QR Codes are two-dimensional barcodes developed in 1994 by Denso-Wave (a subsidiary of Toyota) in Japan. The codes can contain data which, when scanned with a smartphone’s barcode reader, will create an automatic connection to a website. Other data in QR codes can include contact information, links to audio or video, phone numbers, email addresses, and purchases and their payments.
